From Restaurant to Your Home – The Madhuban Heritage
Our story starts with Lodue Miah, a passionate chef with a dream of bringing true Indian flavours to the UK. In 1982, he opened his first restaurant, where guests fell in love with the deep, authentic taste of his curries. As demand grew, customers kept asking:
“Why can’t I recreate these flavours at home?”
Lodue knew the secret lay in expertly balanced, slow-cooked sauces, made with the finest ingredients and generations of culinary expertise. Determined to share these flavours beyond his restaurant, Madhuban Honey Garden Sauces was born.
Now, every jar of our sauce is a reflection of his unwavering commitment to quality, authenticity, and family values—allowing you to experience restaurant-quality Indian cuisine in your own home.

Our story starts with Lodue Miah, a passionate chef with a dream of bringing true Indian flavours to the UK. In 1982, he opened his first restaurant, where guests fell in love with the deep, authentic taste of his curries. As demand grew, customers kept asking:

Now, every jar of our sauce is a reflection of his unwavering commitment to quality, authenticity, and family values—allowing you to experience restaurant-quality Indian cuisine in your own home.

At the young age of 16, Lodue established his restaurant career and eventually opened his own restaurant in Lymington, New Forest. Lodue and his brothers went on to open a further 8 curry houses across the UK.

Lodue Miah started his successful, 38 year career as a chef in 1982.

Lodue opened his award-winning, highly acclaimed restaurant The Madhuban in Liss, Hampshire.

Mr. Miah was continuously asked by his loyal customers why they couldn’t recreate such flavoursome curries at home. His determination to find out why the available home-cooking curry sauces could never produce the same authentic taste would later spark the Honey Garden Sauces idea!

Lodue began using the Madhuban restaurant kitchen for experimenting and cooking.

Lodue had perfected his authentic restaurant-style curry sauces. Honey Garden Sauces was launched & began bringing the real taste of India to every dish.

Honey Garden Sauces moved into their factory in Liss.

In 2006, one of Lodue’s sons, Mekail joined the business as the Managing Director and continues to this day to lead the business from success to success.

Sees the launch of the Madhuban, Honey Garden Sauces Deluxe range. The restaurant’s favourite is the Deluxe Badami and The Goan Curry Sauce for fish.

Madhuban, Honey Garden Sauces has had many successful years producing quality curry sauce for both domestic and trade customers.

In 2020, Madhuban Honey Garden Sauces launched its new website as it continues to grow.
A Family Business with a Heart
At Madhuban, we are more than just a brand—we are a family. For over 40 years, we have been dedicated to bringing people together through food, celebrating the traditions of Indian cuisine, and supporting our communities.
From sponsoring youth football teams to hosting grand customer events, and even opening an orphanage in Bangladesh, our business is built on the belief that food has the power to connect, nourish, and inspire.
This passion continues with Mekail Miah, Lodue’s son, who now leads Madhuban Honey Garden Sauces with the same dedication to quality and authenticity that started it all.
